SOUTHINGTON, Conn., and MILLDALE, Conn. – Mary L. Anderson, 99, of Southington, Conn., passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at HCC at Bradley Memorial. She was the wife of the late Lester Anderson. She was born March 18, 1911, in Penobscot, to the late Leon and Lucy Leach.
Mary had a home in OxBow, surrounded by the acres of a potato farm for more than 60 years. She taught second grade for many years in Ashland. Two of her many interests were travel and painting.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Connie Rand of Southington, Conn.; six grandchildren, David Rand of Rocky Hill, Conn., Robin and his wife, Adelia, of Plantsville, Conn., Karla Amaral of Fall River, Mass., Bradford Amaral and his wife, Sherry Amaral, of Westport, Mass., Douglas Amaral of North Dartmouth, Mass., and Michael Amaral and his wife, Lorraine, of Windmere, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sallly Amaral; and her son, Gregory Amaral.
A brief memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, Conn. There are no calling hours.
