NORTH MONMOUTH – Sebastian “Fred” Sirois, 90, a resident of Old Lewiston Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta. He was born April 10, 1920, in Madison, son of Jesse J. and Exzilda M. (Bourque) Sirois.

He attended Madison schools and graduated from Madison High School in 1940. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a master sergeant. He married Genevieve Leone Albert, May 15, 1946, in Madison. Mrs. Sirois passed away in May 1998. He managed several shoe stores throughout the state of Maine. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Winthrop and was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1603, Auburn. Fred was a man who loved to be very active outdoors working on his lawn and tending his gardens. He was known as the “gentleman” that road on his bike everywhere with his little dog, Angel, in a basket. He loved being with his family and had so many wonderful friends that shared his life.

He is survived by his son, James A. Sirois of Farmingdale; two daughters, Suzanne R.M. Langlais and her husband, Reginald, of Saco, and Mary Mel Bryant of Verona Island; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Jesse M. Sirois, in 2004; his sister, Velma Goodchild; and his son-in-law, Randall Bryant, in 2005.

Funeral services and interment will be held in the spring at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, 129 Blue Star Ave., Augusta. Arrangements by Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Messages of condolence may be sent to
