BRADLEY – Gordon A. King, 79, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at a Bangor hospital, after a long illness. He was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Bradley, the son of Louis G. and Ellie Mazerole (Blanchard) Sirois.

Gordon was a lifelong member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1287, Old Town, and worked for many years at the Old Town paper mill, retiring in 1994. He loved his Patriots and Red Sox.

He is survived by Vernard King of Bradley and friend, Debbie, David King and wife, Cathy, of Old Town, Rebecca Flaherty and husband, Steve, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Brian Scott King and wife, Carin, of Bradley. Gordon is also survived by brother, Gerald King and wife, Annette, of Gouldsboro; two sisters, Theresa Cote and husband, Wally, of Bradley and Jeannie Cote and husband, Francis, of Fort Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Emily Pond, Ashley Loring, Bradley King, Melissa King, Fred King and David King Jr.; great-grandchildren, Todd Rogers Jr., Gabriel Reed and Klaire Loring; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gordon was predeceased by son, Thomas A. King; three brothers, Louis “Bosco” King, Charles King and Raymond Blanchard; five sisters, Doris Doucette, Lucy Allair, Esther Colbert, Martha Cooseboom and Ellen Blake; and his second wife, Laura; and two aides from Home Care, Janet Taylor and Sandy Palmer that took care of him for the last two years, and he grew very fond of them.

There will be a funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, with a celebration of his life afterward at Old Town Elks Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
