NEWPORT – Glendon E. Dodge, 66, died unexpectedly Feb. 17, 2011, at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born April 29, 1944, in Burnham, a son of Jerome and Jennie (Frost) Dodge.

He was employed by the town of Newport for 10 years, retiring in 2006. Glen enjoyed antiques, classic cars and spending time down at Valero’s with the boys.

He is survived by his fiancee, Marilyn Willey of Newport; a daughter, Darlene of Skowhegan; four brothers, Jack and Ronnie of Dexter, Richard of Pittsfield and Jerome of Cornville and Florida; a sister, Kathleen Hart of Corinna; his aunt, Connie Cayford of Corinna; a special niece, Tammy Dodge Bowden of Newport; a special nephew, Corey Dodge of Garland, presently serving in Afghanistan; also several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Dodge, in 2004; and a sister, Shirley Dodge, in 1987.

A celebration of his life will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. Spring burial will be at Detroit Village Cemetery. Those who wish may leave written tributes at
