ASHLAND – Melvon Clayton Jimmo, 77, died Feb. 16, 2011, at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. He was born April 16, 1933, in Ashland, the son of Paul and Clara (Theriault) Jimmo.

Clayton was a 1951 graduate of Ashland High School. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving for nearly four years both stateside and abroad. He was employed at Potato Service, Simplot and McCain’s Food Processing Plants, for about 40 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Laurie Carney and her husband, Brian, of Ashland and Clara Burby and her husband, Douglas, of Masardis; three grandchildren, Megan Carney, Miranda Burby and Dougie Burby; and two great-granddaughters, Mallory and Harlee Clark. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Chapman) Jimmo, in 2003; a granddaughter, Brianna Carney; and a great-granddaughter, Sierra McPherson, both in 1996.

Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and noon until the time of service Monday at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday with Father Jean-Paul LaBrie officiating.
