WEST JONESPORT – Marie L. Chandler, 69, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Sunrise Care Facility, Jonesport. She was born in Addison, the daughter of the late Clarence and Rose (Dorr) Gray.

Marie attended schools in Addison and after graduation she married Norman L. Chandler in 1961. She worked at home for several years picking crabmeat. Marie loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of Pocahontas Club, Jonesport. She enjoyed doing puzzles and word search, and loved her cats.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Gordon Dorr, Alton, Philip and Reginald Gray; her sister, Leona Gardner; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Phyllis Chandler; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Norman L. Chandler of West Jonesport; two sons, Leroy Chandler and wife, Noreen, of Beals and Scott Chandler and wife, Irma, of Beals; one daughter, Betty Dow and husband, Michael, of Milbridge; two brothers, Milton Gray of North Jay and Caswell Gray of Livermore Falls; two sisters, Barbara Dalot of Dryden and Mary Hill of Machias; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Kyle Chandler and Christopher Dow; two special friends, Linda and Fred Carver of Addison and Mark and Bonnie of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge, where a service will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Woodward officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be made online at
