ORRINGTON – Emma Julia Dosen passed away peacefully March 11, 2011, at a Bangor health care center with her family at her side to comfort her in her final journey. Emma, born Dec. 21, 1928, in Hibbing, Minn., was the proud daughter of Marija and Marco Dosen.
Emma grew up in Detroit, where she worked as a Michigan Bell Telephone supervisor for 34 years. After retirement Emma found her true calling in giving child care to a special niece, “Sug” and special nephews, “MJ” and “Fudge.”
“Auntie Em” created for “her kids” magical memories that have followed them into adulthood. Emma’s sky blue eyes were always a reflection of her playful demeanor, her mischievous spirit and her love of the celebration of life’s simple joys. Emma will forever be remembered for making life great fun with her Friday mystery trips and joy of Christmas.
Emma is lovingly survived by her sister and caregiver, Anna; her brother, Joseph and his wife, Lin, whose children are special niece, Loran, of Atlanta, Ga., special nephew, Paul, of Bangor, and special nephew, Michael his wife, Ann, and great-nephew, Michael James, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Pasic III. Emma was predeceased by her loving parents, Marija and Marco Dosen; brother, John; and faithful canine companions, Pasic I, Pasic II and Cutsie. In appreciation and on behalf of Emma and her family, we extend our sincerest thanks and deepest appreciation to all the administrative staff, nurses, caregivers and aides at Westgate Manor & Beacon Hospice. Their unified dedication toward Emma’s care gave us courage and allowed us to transition Emma, with dignity, into God’s hands.
