OLD TOWN and EASTPORT – Margaret A. Newell entered eternal rest Friday, March 11, 2011, with her children by her side at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. Margie was born Sept. 11, 1954, in Eastport, to Ralph and Joyce Hooper.
She was educated in the Eastport school system, graduating from Shead Memorial High School in 1972.
Margaret was predeceased by her father, Ralph E. Hooper; the father of her children, Arthur B. Newell Sr.; and her brothers, Peter, Paul and John. She is survived by her mother, Joyce of Eastport; her children, Angela Anthony and her husband, David, of Milford, Mary, Arthur Jr. and Patrick of Bangor; and her brothers, Ralph of Robbinson and Ben of Eastport. She also leaves behind six grandchildren whom she adored very much, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
At Margaret’s request, there will be no visiting hours. Committal services will be held at a later date in Eastport.
