MONTICELLO – Ruth A. Weed, 86, died March 24, 2011, at a local health care facility. She was born April 8, 1924, in Monticello, daughter of Herman and Bertha (Swimm) Shaw.
Ruth was a hard working woman, working side-by-side with her husband, Robert, on the family farm. When she wasn’t farming, she would be found in the kitchen cooking for family and friends.
She is survived by her foster son, Colby Shaw and his wife, Rhonda, of Littleton; special nephew, Billy Shaw and his wife, Celia, of Bloomfield, New Brunswick; sister-in-law, June Shaw of Greenville; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and brothers, Gordon, Leighton and Emerson.
Friends may call noon Sunday until the time of service 2 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Foster Cemetery.
