WEST BALDWIN – At the young age of 22, Cpl. Joshua Philip Barron passed into eternity sometime after his disappearance Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
Joshua grew up in the town of Standish, where he was an active participant of the football, baseball, basketball, swimming and wrestling teams for Bonny Eagle High School. He also took part in karate. Throughout his life Joshua showed his genuine love, duty and protection for his close friends and family. He attended St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Windham, where he found a personal relationship with Christ, giving him the loving, loyal and calm spirit that he always showed. Josh signed up for the Marine Corps when he was only 17 years old. He said that he always knew he was meant to be a Marine and that all he ever wanted was to protect and defend his family and country.
Josh is survived by his mother, Belinda Barron; sister, Sarah Yeo and her spouse, Tyler Yeo; wife, Natasha Barron and stepson, Aiden DiPaolo-Pouliot; father, Dean Barron; maternal grandparents, Ron and Joan Denyer; and paternal grandmother, Virginia Barron. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Jane Barron.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A Rite of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 40 Windham Center Road, Windham, with the Rev. Timothy Higgins celebrating. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps after the ceremony. Interment will be private.
