MICCO, Fla. – Reginald Sawyer Girouard, 75, died peacefully March 29, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends at home. He was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Old Town; he was one of 14 siblings.
He and his wife of 55 years moved to Micco, Fla., where they called home for the past 15 years. “Reggie” enjoyed working or tinkering in his yard. He had a love of aviation, but most of all entertaining family and friends with his guitar and singing old country songs. Johnny Cash was his favorite. He proudly served 21 years in the Air Force. He was a decorated combat veteran.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Val; and their six surviving children: daughters, Kathy Dorr of Greenville, Pam MacArthur of Eddington, Brenda Glidden of Milford and Donna Girouard of Old Town and sons, William Girouard of Palm Bay, Fla., and Reginald Jr. of Micco, Fla. He loved his 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Roy.
