HAYNESVILLE – Ervin “Red” Malone, beloved husband of Mildred (Stewart) Malone, passed away peacefully March 31, 2011, surrounded by family and friends at a Bangor hospital. Erv was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Houlton, son of Milo and Emily (McFadden) Malone.
For most of his life, Erv was employed in the logging industry and was a lifelong resident of Haynesville. He was an avid reader of Zane Grey and Louis L’Amour novels, and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Minnie; and their children, Morgan Malone and his partner, Bert Bilodeau, of Winslow and Kevin Malone and his wife, Charlene Malone, of Gorham. He is also survived by his sisters, Althea and her husband, Stan Craig, of Burnham and Pamela and her husband, Douglas Jacobs, of Haynesville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Betty Yard. The family thanks the medical staffs at Houlton Regional Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, for their compassionate care.
