PERRY – Carroll E. McPhail, 82, went to be with his Lord April 2, 2011. He was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Perry, son of the late Herbert and Bessie (Brown) McPhail.
He married Sarah Coggins, Feb. 18, 1956, and together they had five children. Carroll worked for Humphrey’s Dairy and Mearl Corp., and at Country Bargains, which he co-owned with his wife. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, tinkering with tractors, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Conley. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; three sons, Herbert and wife, Brenda, Angus and wife, Julie, and Peter and wife, Tammy, all of Perry; two daughters, Donna Hance and husband, Franklin, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Kathy Molholland and husband, Blair, of Robbinston; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe; two sisters, Elizabeth Boutin and Phyllis Woodman; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting will be held noon until the time of memorial service 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Perry Bible Fellowship with Pastor Gill Soucy officiating. Burial will be after at Leland Cemetery, Perry. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in Carroll’s memory may do so to Downeast Hospice, 24 Hospital Lane, Calais, ME 04619 or Perry Bible Fellowship, 1292 U.S. Route 1, Perry, ME 04667. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
