INDIAN TOWNSHIP – Julia Marie Prewitt, 28, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 31, 2011. Julia was born Feb. 11, 1983, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick.

She was a communicant of St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Julia loved basketball, listening to music, and playing video games and hackey sack.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Huey Paul Prewitt and Barbara Stevens Bergeron; and her maternal grandparents, Eugene Stevens Sr. and Freda Ranco Stevens. Surviving are her parents, Matthew Prewitt of New Orleans and Debra Stevens Prewitt and stepfather, Joseph “Billy” Thornton, of Indian Township; one sister, Freda Stevens and her fiance, Andrew Townsend, of Indian Township; two nieces, Courtney Theriault and Aselis Townsend; two nephews, Ryan Newell and Evan Townsend, all of Indian Township; many aunts, uncles and cousins from Indian Township and Louisiana. Julia will also be missed by her companion, Angela Kelly Humphry-Moore of Nevada; and her best friends, Skye Stevens, Tiffany Tomah and Andrea Stevens-Hall, all of Indian Township.

Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point, by Father James Plourde. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Tribal Cemetery, Peter Dana Point. Condolences and memories may be shared at
