BANGOR – Gary “G-Man” Milles, 50, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 3, 2011. He was born Nov. 28, 1960, in New Haven, Conn., son of Norman and Barbara (Egan) Milles. Gary grew up in Branford, Conn., and was a graduate of Branford High School. He was an entrepreneur in many business endeavors including, prior owner of Whig & Currier Pub, Bangor, for many years. He also was a private construction manager and financial adviser. Most recently, Gary was a part of Maher Heating. Gary enjoyed many hobbies, his favorites were golfing, boating, camping, watching his sons’ many sporting events, playing guitar and composing music. He was at his best when in the kitchen cooking for his family and friends. Gary is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cynthia (Deyone) Milles; father, Norman E. Milles of Branford, Conn.; sons, Erik Gary Milles of Bangor, Ryan Daniel Maher and his wife, Kristen, of Manchester, N.H., and Corey Ronald Maher and his wife, Rachel, of Glenburn; siblings, Donna Hatcher and husband, James, of Cranston, R.I., Nancy Flanagan and husband, Thomas, of East Lyme, Conn., Michael Milles and wife, Tracey, of Branford, Conn., Robert Milles of Branford, Conn., and Norman E. “Chip” Milles Jr. and wife, Sue, of Branford, Conn.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Shelly Deyone; and special niece and nephew, Melanie and Dennis McGraff, and Caitlin. Gary had five grandchildren, Cameron, Conner, Jordyn, Patrick and Gavin; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Special mentions to cousins, Kim and Joe Regan; friends, Richard and Kitty Reynolds, Chris Conlin, Steve and Ruth Perdo, Thomas Starno, Steve Clark, Phil Adams, Larry Van Peursen, Steve Pelligrino, April and Roland Nichols; and special “sons,” David Hamel and Caleb Smith. Gary was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Milles. Remember Gary for his smile, love for his family and friends, a man always ready to help another. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. The family invites friends to share conversation and refreshments at the church hall after the service.
