GREENVILLE – Gregory Dawson Gravelle, 55, son of Lewis and Lena (Breau) Gravelle, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011, at his home after a long struggle with diabetes.

Greg was a proud single parent to loving son, Andrew, and owned Gravelle Painting, Greenville, for many years. He was a 1974 graduate of Greenville High School and veteran of the U.S. Army. After living in New Hampshire for 10 years, Greg and his son followed their hearts back to Greenville in pursuit of their love for the Maine woods. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish, and was well known in the Moosehead Lake area for his wonderful cooking.

He is survived by loving son, Andrew; five brothers, Lewie, Clevis, Peter, Tim and Thomas; four sisters, Jean, Lisa, Terri and Elizabeth; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his parents; infant brother, Tom, in 1963; and sister, Judy, in 2007.

There will be a celebration of his life noon-2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at The American Legion, Greenville. Coincidentally, April 9 is Greg’s parent’s 66th wedding anniversary.
