LIMESTONE – Landen Lee Owens, 5, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Landen was born Dec. 20, 2005, in Caribou, the son of Naomi Rossignol and Jeremy Owens.
His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Landen had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life. Although his life was short, those who knew him would know the gentle quality of who he was. Landen was a great fan of the movie Cars, and could often be seen wearing his racing outfit around the house. He loved playing with puppies and spending time with his sister, Aunika. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Landen is survived by his mother, Naomi; his sister, Aunika; and his grandparents, Louie and Sharon Lavoie, Fred and Diane Butler, and Arthur and Tracy Rossignol. He also leaves behind the wonderful caregivers that provided him with much love and support. There is a special place in our hearts for the nurses, physicians and staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, who helped to enhance his quality of life. All of those people, too numerous to mention, provided Landen with love and dignity in his life. With his passing, we remind others that Landen’s life is one to be celebrated. While we will miss him every day, he will forever remain in our hearts.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where a funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, April 23, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone officiating. Interment will be in May at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at
