CARIBOU and ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Eula Dorothy Wright Fogg died April 24, 2011, in Englewood, Fla. She was born April 30, 1918, in Seal Cove, Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Frederick Talmidge and Frances Harriet (Nye) Wright.
She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy Mass. Eula was a high school French and Spanish teacher in her earliest career, and then she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers at Loring Air Force Base; Seymour Air Force Base, Goldsboro, N.C.; and McDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Fla., until her retirement at age 65. After her retirement she worked for a consumer research firm in Tampa, Fla., until 70 years of age. She lived in Fort Fairfield, Boston, Caribou, Goldsboro, N.C., Las Vegas and Englewood, Fla. She spent the last eight years with her daughter, Carol. Eula loved traveling in Europe, Canada and the United States with her daughters and grandchildren. She was an accomplished pianist and was the church pianist for Church of the Nazarene, Caribou and Portland. She owned Shaw’s Specialty Shop and the Specialty Shop, Caribou, for a number of years, and was an active member of Caribou Business and Professional Women’s Club. Eula was a deeply religious person who lived a godly life. Her deep faith in God, and her grace and kindness were an inspiration to many people throughout her life.
Eula is survived by her two daughters, Carol Brewer of Englewood, Fla., and Linda Brown, M.D., of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Andrew of Austin, Texas, Allyson of Louisville, Ky., and Philip of Las Vegas; four great-grandchildren, Georgia and Isaac of Austin, Texas, and Katrina and Sarah of Las Vegas; and one niece and nephew, Ruth Cyr of Sarasota, Fla., and Otis Wright Jr. of Ocean Township, N.J.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. June 25 at the chapel of Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
