BANGOR – Michael Anthony Gellerson, 69, passed away April 29, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. Michael was born Aug. 23, 1941, in Bangor.
Mike grew up and attended schools in Bangor before being drafted into the service. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War while stationed in Japan. Upon his return he worked for many years in the Bangor area as an insurance salesman and in recent years for Town Taxi. Mike was a true New Englander who enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Mike is survived by his son, Joshua Gellerson and girlfriend, Hilary Haney, of Corinth; daughter, Michelle Damon and husband, Bruce, of Orland; his adopted children, Tracy Gellerson-Duffy and husband, Barry Duffy, and Todd Gellerson and wife, Tera, all of Blue Hill; and a special granddog, Allie.
Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Graveside services will be private.
