FORT KENT – Victorianne (Paradis) Theriault, 91, died peacefully May 1, 2011, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born June 12, 1919, in Frenchville, the daughter of Victorie and Catherine (Boucher) Paradis.
She will be best remembered by all who knew her for her quick wit and unfailing positivity. She was the first to laugh and her jokes were usually about herself.
She had a deep faith and worked throughout her life to help the sick and less fortunate.
She was a gifted seamstress and enthusiastic card player who even in her last days beat anyone in cribbage. In her later years, she brought much joy to her caregivers who called her “Madame Vicky,” which amused her greatly. She adored the staff who cared for her there and was grateful for the outstanding care she was given. She was a devoted mother, doting grammy and a great friend to all who were lucky enough to have crossed her path.
She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Theriault, in 1999; and one son, Ronald Theriault, in 2001. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie and her husband, Garland Caron, of Cross Lake; three sons, Philip and his wife, Sue Theriault, of Plainville,
Conn., James and his wife, Nanci Theriault, of Phoenix, and Raymond and his wife, Bonnie Theriault, of Southington, Conn.; three siblings, Lillian Theriault of New Britain, Conn., Ivan Paradis of Morris, Conn., and Gerry Paradis of Springfield, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. All will miss her dearly.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no service. In her memory those who wish may donate to Crosswinds Activities Fund, 40 Village Road, Fort Kent, ME 04743.
Arrangements are a service of Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
