NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – Geraldine B. (Gould) Reynolds, 94, formerly of Southwest Harbor and Camden, died peacefully and went to be with the Lord March 5, 2011.
Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Warren G. Reynolds Sr.; brothers, Woodrow and Richard; sister, Winona; former son-in-law, Marvin D. McLeod Sr.; son-in-law, Frank E. Whiffen II; and granddaughter-in-law, Blesia Whiffen. She is survived by her sister, Martha Nash; daughters, Jacqueline A. Reynolds and her significant other, Noel Madlambayan, Cheryl E. Whiffen, Andrea G. Leonard and husband, Weldon; son, Warren G. Reynolds Jr. and special friend, Margot Johnson; grandchildren, Cherrie Barnes, Frank E Whiffen III, Justin T. Leonard, Naomi Reynolds and Sunshine Giles; a special stepgranddaughter, Sandy Ahlquist; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Gerry was known for her cooking and enjoyed doing so for her family, friends and all the children at the Camden school lunch program and Mount Desert Island Head Start program. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, arts and crafts and painting. After relocating from Maine to Florida at age 61, she graduated from cosmetology school, received her license and worked until she retired. She was a member of Camden Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church, New Port Richey, Fla., where she sang in the choir and was active in Wesley Adult Fellowship class.
There will be a family service and committal 1 p.m. June 17 at East Union Cemetery. Donations in Gerry’s name may be made to the hospice care center of your choice.
