FORT KENT – Gertrude Pinette, 87, died June 30, 2011, at a Fort Kent residential care facility. She was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, daughter of George and Elise (Duperre) Bellefleur.

She was employed at Fraser Limited, Edmundston, New Brunswick, in the early 1950s and later worked at Thibodeau’s Insurance until her retirement. She enjoyed vacationing at her home in Florida with her husband Claude and traveling while their health allowed them.

She is survived by two sons, Dana Pinette and Peter and his wife, Sandra Pinette, of Fort Kent; her grandchildren, Justin Pinette of Oakland, Danielle DeFrederico and husband, Justin, of Bangor, Jonathan Pinette and Tyler Rioux of Boston and Derek Rioux and his fiance, Sadi Dubois, of Fort Kent; one brother, George Bellefleur Jr. and his wife, Lorraine, of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Pauline Plourde; and three brothers, Clifford Bellefleur, Roger Bellefleur and Herman Bellefleur.

Friends may call 8 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, July 5, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be afterward in the parish cemetery.
