AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Gov. Paul LePage has decided to hold six bills passed by lawmakers this year until the session that begins in January.
The deadline to act on all of the remaining bills enacted during the 2011 session was Monday. LePage set aside six of those sent to his desk because of questions he has about some of the details.
The Kennebec Journal in Augusta says the held bills include a measure to establish rules to govern the Oxford casino that’s scheduled to open next year.
Others deal with sales tax exemptions for groups that provide live entertainment and credits for taxes paid on fuel. A bill to fund a trade policy commission was held, as were bills dealing with delivery of library materials and power controls in public building renovations.
