FORT KENT – Roberta Marquis, 65, wife of the late Philip Marquis, died July 12, 2011, at a Fort Kent health care facility.

She was born July 23, 1945, in Boston, daughter of Robert and Maude (Quimby) McCready.

Roberta graduated from Deering High School, Portland, and went on to become a dental assistant. She married her husband in 1968, and they eventually settled down in Fort Kent, Phil’s hometown. She worked for Lucien Daigle, DMD, in Fort Kent for 14 years.

For the last three years, Roberta was living at CrossWinds Residential Care Facility, where she received exceptional care from the wonderful, dedicated staff.

Roberta is survived by one daughter, Rebecca “Becky” and her husband, Chris Toussaint, and their children, Matthew and Michelle, all of Wallagrass; one son, Michael and his wife, Joan Marquis, and their children, Henry and Charlotte, all of Saco; one sister, Joanne and her husband, Larry Gaudet, of South Portland; several nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends who were always there for her. She is also survived by several special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents, Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Phil, in 1989; her parents-in-law, Romeo and Gertrude Marquis; a niece, Cheryl (Marquis) Esty; and a nephew, Brian Marquis.

Friends may call 8 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, July 23, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Committal services will be afterward in the parish cemetery, with a reception after at Fort Kent Knights of Columbus Hall.
