BENEDICTA and HIGHAM, Mass. – Anna T. McAvoy, 47, died July 28, 2011, in Millinocket. She was born June 28, 1964, in Houlton, the daughter of Basil and Margaret (Qualey) McAvoy.
She graduated from Katahdin High School in 1983. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid Red Sox fan. She grew up in Benedicta and moved to Higham, Mass., in 1985 to become a nanny and later office manager for the Stone Family.
In addition to her mother of Benedicta, she is survived by her siblings, Betty and Michael Elwell, Patricia Cochran, Edward and Ona, Leo and Geri, and Danny and Barb McAvoy. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and a special family: Joe, Sue, Jamie and Ethan Stone. She was predeceased by her father; and two sisters, Linda Bouchard and Mary Lowe.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Benedicta, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with Father Joel Cyr, celebrant.
