CORINTH – Gerald Albert Hutchinson, 79, husband of Glennis (Adams) Hutchinson, died peacefully Aug. 18, 2011, surrounded by his family at a Brewer nursing home. He was born July 22, 1932, in Littleton, the son of Albert and Dorothy (Little) Hutchinson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in 1953 and on his return, owned and operated his own trucking business for many years. He also worked as a night watchman for Dexter Shoe, retiring in 1996 and as a greeter at Walmart for four years. Gerald was a member of Charleston Pentecostal Church, where he drove the Sunday school bus for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years, are six children, Katherine Bryson of Old Town, Gloria Downs and Rodney of Corinth, Angela Mann and Isaac of Corinth, Timothy Hutchinson of Hermon, Susan Scripture and Rick of Levant and Stephanie Washburn and Wayne of Dover-Foxcroft; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Campbell of Linneus; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Hutchinson of Polk City, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Jean; and a brother, Eugene.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Charleston Pentecostal Church with Pastor Matthew Ward officiating.
