MILBRIDGE and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Sharon Drisko Rolfe, 67, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011. She was born May 26, 1944, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of Keith and Donna Drisko.
Sharon attended the University of Maine and obtained her master’s degree in education. After 32 and a half years of teaching, she retired from Milbridge Elementary School. Sharon and her husband, Lyle, spent their winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., and summers in Milbridge. During the summer she loved getting family and friends together, often times at their camp on Pleasant River Lake, Beddington. She was a member of Washington County Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Lambda Chapter, and SAD 37 Teachers Association.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lyle Rolfe; two sons, Jonathan Rolfe and fiancee, Lida Daniels, and his children, Morgan and Hunter Rolfe, and their mother, Christy Rolfe, and Joshua Rolfe and his wife, Shasta, and their children, Kaylah Parsons and Tanner Rolfe; a sister, Karen Pineo and her husband, Larry; a brother, Hugh Drisko and his wife, Juanita; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Milbridge Elementary School gym. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sharon Rolfe Memorial Fund at Bar Harbor Bank and Trust, Milbridge. Every year a deserving eighth grade graduate from Milbridge Elementary School will receive a monetary gift in the memory of Sharon “Brownie” Rolfe.
