LEVANT – Laura Jean Brown, 53, passed away Aug. 30, 2011, at a Boston hospital. Laura was born March 21, 1958, in Bay Shore, N.Y., daughter of John and Joan (Jenkins) Jacobsen.
Laura grew up and attended schools in Long Island, N.Y.
Laura worked in retail as an instructor in a business that she so much loved. She instructed and led many people to enjoy creating works of art with beads.
Laura is survived by her parents, John and Joan Jacobsen of Long Island, N.Y.; her loving husband, Stephen Brown of Levant; her daughter, Kasey Smith of Arizona; a stepson, Sebastian Brown of Missouri; a stepdaughter, Rachael Hoagson of Nebraska; two brothers, Lee Jacobsen and Chris Jacobsen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. Messages of condolence and memories may be shared through
