VAN BUREN – Virginia “Ginny” Ruth Parent, 53, passed away into the arms of our Lord Sept. 11, 2011, at her home with her family at the side. Ginny was born July 9, 1958, in Portland.
She attended Northern Aroostook Alternatives for 23 years until March 2011, when complications of her Angelman Syndrome worsened.
She is survived by her mother and father, Sheryl (Belanger) and Stephen Parent of Van Buren; three brothers, Scott Parent and his family, Mecca and Maizilynn Sky of Van Buren, Jason Parent and his wife, Marie, of Van Buren, and Elijaah Parent of Van Buren; one sister, Morgan Parent of Van Buren; maternal grandparents, Irene and Elmer Belanger of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; paternal grandfather, Philip Parent of Caribou; many aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Lillian Parent. Ginny was an angel on earth and is now an angel in heaven. The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for and taught Ginny, because to know Ginny was to love Ginny. A special thanks to Christine Cormier, Anne Marie Cormier and Roland Ruest.
Relatives and friends may call 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery, Van Buren.
