MADAWASKA – Jeanne O. Pelletier, 77, passed away Sept. 13, 2011, at a Madawaska health care facility, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born April 12, 1934, in Claire, New Brunswick, the daughter of Antoin “Jim” and Alexina (Morin) Lizotte.
Jeanne retired from Madawaska Town Office after 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, as well as a member of Daughters of Isabella. Jeanne was an avid golfer and loved being outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane Gendreau and her fiance, Vernon Doucette, of Madawaska; one son, Shawn Pelletier and his companion, Lisa Derosier, of Madawaska; a very special grandchild, Jacob Gendreau of Madawaska; three sisters, Gilberte Couturier of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Therese Dube and her husband, Emelien, and Leanne Lizotte, all of Montreal; one brother, Leopold Lizotte of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilles Pelletier; two sisters, Rita Martin and Claudette Lizotte; and one brother, Robert Lizotte.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
