PRESQUE ISLE – Dolores Levasseur, 83, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 16, 2011, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born May 6, 1928, in Soldier Pond, the daughter of Dave and Lena (Labbe) Labbe. Dolores was raised by her foster parents, Richard and Marie (Labbe) Leferriere.
She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Madore and her husband, Vaughn, of Presque Isle; two sons and their wives, Donald and Sharon Levasseur of Sebastian, Fla., and Dennis and Ruth Levasseur of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Joan Dube of Plaistead; a daughter-in-law, Rose “Chee Chee” Levasseur of Mapleton; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Levasseur, in January 2010; a son, Robert “Pete” Levasseur, Sept. 15, 2011; three brothers, Lionel, Arthur and Camille Labbe; and a sister, Theresa Cyr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Presque Isle, with the Very Rev. Jean Paul LaBrie officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Interment will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery.
