FRENCHVILLE and FORT KENT – Rella (Charette) Theriault, 95, died peacefully Sept. 21, 2011, at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born Oct. 13, 1915, in Daigle, daughter of Baptiste and Thelma (Russel) Charette.
Rella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donat Theriault, in 1969. She is survived by four daughters, Geraldine Brown of Fort Kent, Leonette Jarvais of Oakville, Conn., Lena and her husband, Roger LaFontaine, of Queensbury, N.Y., and Glenda and her husband, Allen Page, of Maringo, Iowa; two brothers, Julian Charette of Fort Kent and John Charette of Van Buren; one sister, Delores Pelletier of Waterbury, Conn.; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son, Donald Theriault; four brothers, Adelard Charette, Albert Charette, Bertrand Charette and Donald Charette; and two sisters, Irene Vale and Julie Williams.
Friends may call 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Rella’s memory to St. Joseph’s Activities Fund, Route 1 Box 426, Frenchville, ME 04745. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
