EAGLE LAKE – Gertrude (Gagnon) Morneault, 98, died peacefully Sept. 21, 2011, at an Eagle Lake health care facility.

She was born May 16, 1913, in Eagle Lake, daughter of Elie and Delia (Saucier) Gagnon.

Gertrude was a member of Ladies of St. Anne, Eagle Lake.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Sandra Culver and Gary Morneault; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Morneault, all of Bristol, Conn.; two sisters, Maureen Belanger of Fort Kent and Rolande Fournier of Eagle Lake; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Aldrick Morneault; her son, Leonard Morneault; two sisters, Mary Morneault and Mamie McDonald; and four brothers, Edmund, Leonard, Joe and Willie Gagnon.

Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, until the time of service at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services will be after at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in Gertrude’s memory to St. Mary’s Activities Fund, 3402 Aroostook Road, Eagle Lake, ME 04739.
