EDDINGTON – Ernest G. Rockwell Sr., 73, died Sept. 25, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Bangor, son of Elmer T. and Sarah J. (Arseneau) Rockwell.

Ernest served during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force and worked for many years for New Franklin Laundry. He also worked for a time with R. Leon William Lumber Mill, Clifton, and as a custodian at the Airport Mall, Bangor.

Surviving are five children, Sarah Lyons and her husband, Arthur, of Old Town, Vicki Rockwell of Fort McCoy, Fla., Angela Rockwell Baker and her husband, Ronald, of Frankfort, Ernest Rockwell Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Brewer, and Tracie Rockwell McCoy and her husband, Christopher, of Bangor; seven grandchildren, Irene, Bruce, Jacob, Sierra, Jasmine, Brianna and Tyler; brother, Hollis Rockwell Sr. and his wife, Linda, of Eddington; sister, Shirley Bass and her husband, William, of Jackson, Miss.; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Elmer T. Rockwell Jr., Betty Grant, Margaret Cameron and Helen Bucheit.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Harts Corner Cemetery, Route 1A, Holden.
