MACHIAS – Jeanette E. Hall, born April 3, 1928, at Jonesboro, died Nov. 2, 2011, at Sunrise Care Facility, Jonesport. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Minnie (Dorr) Schoppee.
She was a graduate of Jonesboro High School and Maine School of Commerce – Husson. On Oct. 26, 1946, she married Frank “Diddy” Hall of Jonesport. Their marriage lasted 60 wonderful years until his death in 2007. After moving to Machias, Jeanette became employed at the University of Maine at Machias, and retired as manager of the bookstore. Over the years she enjoyed attending dances when “Did” was a musician in several bands. She was a former member of the Machias Valley Women’s Club, and enjoyed playing pinochle. She and “Did” spent many vacations at their camp on Fulton Lake, Northfield.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her mother, Minnie, in 1978; her father, Harrison, in 1977; her son-in-law, John Ricigliano, in 1977; her nephew, Dana Schoppee, in 1985; her brother, Keith Schoppee, in 1998; and her great-grandson, Michael Vincent Viani, in 2011. She is survived by her son, Frank “Peter” Hall and wife, Carol, of Jonesport; her daughter, Lorraine Ricigliano and companion, Rob, of Hermon; grandchildren, Jennifer Lee of Missouri, Ian Ricigliano and wife, Rae, of Hermon, Elizabeth Viani and husband, Michael, of Charleston, and Aaron Hall of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren, Jacinda, Gabriella, and Jonathan Lee and Jaeden and Julia Viani; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Schoppee of Jonesboro, and Barbara Hall of Jonesport; a son-in-law, Philip Lee of Bangor; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and several special friends whom the family extends special thanks for their care and concern for our mother.
In accordance with Jeanette’s wishes a private family gathering will be held at McClure Family Funeral Home, Machias. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport. Those wishing to make donations in her memory may do so to the: Centre Street Congregational Church, Steeple Fund, Machias or to the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, handicapped ramp fund, Jonesport.
