EXETER, N.H. – Gregory S. Lenz, 22, died Nov. 4, 2011. He was born April 6, 1989, in Newton, Mass., son of Peter R. and Marcia Gadsby Lenz of Exeter.
Gregory was raised in Bangor and was a graduate of Bangor High School in 2007. He was a senior at University of New Hampshire, majoring in international affairs, political science and German. Gregory was a member of the National Honor Society and 2006 Maine Class A State Championship Soccer Team at Bangor High School. He was selected best student in advanced German, inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society, selected to present a paper at the 2011 Undergraduate Research Conference and received honor grades every semester at UNH. In addition to maintaining excellent grades, Greg served as a vital member of the Student Senate. He was extremely well liked by his teachers and his peers, showing a great deal of enthusiasm and engagement in the classroom.
In addition to his parents, family members include his brother, Erik P. Lenz of Berwick; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Lilly Lenz of Roslindale, Mass.; his maternal grandparents, William and Jean Gadsby of Auburn, N.Y.; also several aunts, uncles and cousins in New York, West Virginia, England and Germany.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, N.H. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank or NHSPCA, P.O.
