OLD TOWN and CHERRYFIELD – Faye J. (McManus) Lunt passed away Nov. 14, 2011, at a local hospital after a long illness. Faye was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Bangor, daughter of the late Francis “Tam” and Frances P. (Smith) McManus.

Faye spent her childhood years in Cherryfield and graduated from Cherryfield Academy in 1953. She went on to work at the University of Maine, Orono, until her retirement. Faye was gifted in quilting, knitting and needlework, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her two children, W. Thomas Lunt, and Martha E. McNeely and husband, William; a grandson, Paul E. Eaton and his wife, Elizabeth, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Charlotte; a sister, Ellen M. Tenan and her husband, Neil; brother, Paul E. McManus and wife, Pam; special nieces, Emily Lilienthal and husband, Stephen, Debra Swett and her husband, Eric, and children, and Jennifer Nadolski and her husband, Scott, and son; and many more nieces and nephews. She is also survived by an uncle, Preston Smith of Cherryfield; and a beloved cousin, Joan G. Oliver of Old Town. She was predeceased by a brother, Linwood “Bub” McManus. She will be missed by two special four-footed friends, Kilimanjaro and Vesuvius.

There will be a private remembrance in the spring. Interment at Morse Cemetery, Cherryfield. Donations may be sent to Ruggles House Society, P.O. Box 116, Columbia Falls, ME 04623. Condolence cards may be mailed to the family at 16 Airedale Place, Bangor, ME 04401.
