WESTON – Donald “Donnie” T. Lloyd Sr., 70, passed away Nov. 24, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Donnie was born April 3, 1941, in Weston, the son of Thomas and Lois (Ambrose) Lloyd.

He was quick witted with a great sense of humor and he loved to make people smile. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially ice fishing, and having a great time with his family and friends. He drove truck for more than 50 years and was called a legend in his own time by many truckers. He ran his own business for the last 18 years until illness forced him to retire. He had many friends, many of which knew him as Cricket, and no matter where he went he would always run into someone he knew and would stop to talk to them.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 50 years, Vivian (McLaughlin) Lloyd; his children, whom he was so proud of, Donnie and Becky Lloyd of Topsfield, Joyce and Donald Moore of Clarksville, Tenn., Terri and Conrad Daoust of Wilton, Paul and Theresa Lloyd of Concord, N.H., and Mitchell and Melissa Lloyd of Danforth; seven grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Audrey, Joseph and Darcie Daoust, Amber Whipple, Cheryl and Jonathan Richardson, Courtney Lloyd and Keith Lloyd; five great-grandchildren, that he adored, Naoh Daoust, Brooke and Julie Ann Wright, Thomas Richardson and Jacob Schofield; one brother, Paul and Gen Gilpatrick of Weston; sisters, Frances Levesque, Glennis Lynds and Margaret Varney, all of Houlton, and Ann and Robert Hart of Whitleyville, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Jack and Karoline McLaughlin of Vine Grove, Ky., and Maurice and Paula McLaughlin of Stafford Springs, Conn.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Barbara Murray, Blanche Jameson, Ann White and Hazel Faulkner; and brothers, Clarence, James and Elwood Lloyd.

Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, where memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. Interment will be at Danforth Cemetery. A reception will be held at Weston Grange after the services.
