BREWER – Dow Randall Cain, 58, passed away Nov. 7, 2011. He was born June 24, 1953, in Presque Isle, son of the late Sharon and Frederick Cain.

Dow grew up in Masardis. After his high school graduation from Ashland Community High School, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. Dow received his associate degree in electrical and automation technology in Seattle, and worked many years as a licensed journeyman industrial electrician in Seattle and Brewer. Dow was known for his hardy laugh and engaging personality. He had a great appreciation for nature and animals, and enjoyed the ocean, hiking, hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader, loved to cook and enjoyed listening to music. Dow was known for his generous spirit where his natural talent at fixing things was often shared with family and friends.

Dow is survived by three children, Aimee H. Bakeman of Maple Valley, Wash., Sgt. Dow R. Cain II, U.S. Army, and Karli L. Cain of Bangor; three grandchildren, Reece, Gavin and Ava Bakeman; two brothers, Terry Cain of Hampden and Gus Cain of Caribou; and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private burial will take place in the spring at Masardis Cemetery.
