BLUE HILL and PRENTISS – Richard E. Doane, 69, passed away Nov. 20, 2011, at a Blue Hill hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Prentiss, the son of Evelyn (Worster) and Donald Doane.
Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman and Red Sox fan. He worked for Dead River.
He is survived by sons, Michael Doane and Eva Lord, Christopher Doane and Richard Doane Jr. and his wife, Jody; daughters, Michelle Pelkey and husband, Phillip, and Brandi Herbest and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Ethan Doane, Grayson Doane, Sabrina Spaulding, Brianna Spaulding, Scotty Herbest, Bryden Doane, Elijah Doane and Noah Doane; brother, Ronald Doane and wife, Linda; sister, Voight Freeman and husband, Jerry; and half sisters, Linda, Carol, Connie and Sherry. He was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn Dill; his father, Donald Doane; brothers, Keith Doane and George Dill; and grandson, Riley Herbest.
