PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Leo Clarence Gagnier, 86, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. He was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Millinocket, son of Frank and Marie Gagnier.
He worked and retired from Great Northern Paper Co. as a pipe fitter. Clarence loved to hunt and fish, was an avid golfer and a Navy veteran in World War II. He was known as a musician and we’ve all danced to his “It’s a pity to say goodnight.”
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucille Noddin Gagnier of Port Orange, Fla.; three sons, Frank Gagnier and wife, Sue, of Amelia Island, Fla., Tim Gagnier and wife, Sue, of Saco, and Pat Gagnier and fiancee, Bobbie, of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Linda Wasilauskis and husband, Marty, of Millinocket, and Kathy Gifford and husband, Dave, of Port Orange, Fla.; three sisters, Adeline Ladd of Dover-Foxcroft, Viola Pesillo of Sullivan and Betty Nevells of Bangor; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Elmer, Larry and Eldon Gagnier; a sister, Rella Dumas; and his grandson, Trevor Alley.
A service of remembrance will be held in summer 2012 in Millinocket and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Hillcrest Golf Club, P.O. Box 739, Millinocket, ME 04462 or Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
