MATTAWAMKEAG – Joseph Ernest Lee III, 58, died Dec. 13, 2011, at Togus Veterans Affairs hospital. He was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Lincoln, son of Joseph Ernest Lee Jr. and Dorothy (Rideout) Lee.
Joey served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a family man. Family was everything to Joey. He was known by everyone and always took the time to stop and talk or lend a hand. He was a partner at Crossroads Motel and Restaurant, Mattawamkeag. Joey loved his Harley and just taking off for a ride. Now he is riding free.
He is survived by a son, Joseph Lee and Nicole of Springfield; mother, Dorothy Lee of Enfield; brother, Robert Lee and Kristin; sister, Karen Martinez and Randy; grandson, Tylar Lee “Bub”; granddaughter, Ashlyn Lee, “the prettiest little girl ‘Pop-Pop’ knows”; and his best friend, Patti. Joey was predeceased by his father, Ernest Lee; and brother, Richard Lee.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Mattawamkeag Cemetery.
