BANGOR – Patrick W. Olds, 61, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 9, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1950, in New Orleans, and resided in Lockport, La., during his younger years.

Patrick began his career with Delta Airlines in 1971 in Chicago and transferred to Bangor, where he worked as a customer service supervisor and ticket agent retiring in 1995. He graduated from Central Lafourche High School, Mathews, La., in 1968. Anyone who knew Patrick knew that he was a kind and generous man and that he always had an ongoing project.

Surviving are his mother, Gertrude LeBlanc Olds of Louisiana; sisters, Iris (Olds) Chauvin and her husband, David, of Florida and JoAnne (Olds) Williams and her husband, Michael, of Louisana; nieces and nephews, Sean Chauvin and his wife, Portia, of Florida, Jade Collins and her husband, Brent, of Spain, Rhiannon William of Louisana and Benjamin Chauvin of Illinois; great-nieces and great-nephews, Alexa, Aidan and Lucia Collins, all of Spain; many aunts, uncles and cousins, who are saddened by his passing. He was predeceased by his father, William H. Olds; his grandparents, Anatole J. and Gertie (Sevin) LeBlanc, James Olds and Ruth H. Sandstrom; his lifelong companions and best friends, Devon, Ladybug, Sebastian, Samantha and most recently, Waylon. The Olds family gratefully thanks the team of doctors and nurses at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their care and compassion for Patrick. They especially thank Nancy Hatch and Dola Hinckley for their friendship throughout so many years and for their help and compassion. They also gratefully thank the Grover family. There will be no services held. In lieu of flowers and to honor his generosity to many organizations, memorial donations may be made to the humane society or to the American Heart Association.
