A Cowgirl Named Pat
In the morning light of a promising day,
the three riders appear at the base of the hill,
mounts ready, reins still.
No words are spoken as they race to the crest,
one rider moves out to the beckoning calls from the angels above.
With windswept hair jet black as her steed, united they ride.
A lone kindred spirit, on fate’s path she will follow,
to a celestial journey, only she can heed.
Glowing with radiant beauty and fierce loyalty,
she moves with swift speed.
As her thundering hoof beats are heard from above,
a new journey for her, the one in the wind on a trail of stars that has no end.
