First of all, I’d like to thank everyone who’s been involved in their continued efforts in finding my daughter, Ayla. A special thanks to the residents of Waterville that came together to offer a reward for information leading to Ayla’s return. I am pleased with the amount of resources being expended from all departments of law enforcement. Until now, I have not participated in any interviews for I don’t want to in any way hinder the investigation.

However, it is important that the public hear it from me personally that I have no idea what happened to Ayla and that I am not hiding. I have been in full cooperation with everyone in this effort, including not adding additional media hype.

I would never do anything to hurt my child. The questions of Ayla’s arm or bruises or anything else being said are simply ludicrous. I would never want anyone to spend even a minute in my shoes. No one should ever have to experience this. It has affected me in more ways than anyone can imagine.

I have to believe that Ayla is with somebody and I just want that person to find the courage to do the right thing and find a way to return her safely. Even if that means, dropping her off at a church, or hospital, or some safe place …

Again, Thank you to everyone in trying to help and thank you to everyone showing your support! Please don’t give up or lose hope, because that is easy to do. Please be grateful for what you have. I know what I don’t have.

The truth is the truth and when the case is solved, it will be out there. Until then, please try to remain positive and hopeful as I remain confident the Ayla will return safely.

  1. He has a lawyer because both statements “he” made sound like they were prepared by a lawyer. This is exactly why I tend to believe the mother in this case.  She’s putting herself out there and if she had anything to hide she’d be avoiding the media.

    1. I seem to remember a young mother down Georgia way about 10-15 years ago who was on the news daily crying for her kids after ‘a black hitchhiker’ (or something like that) took them.

She was the one that left the 2 babies in the car and rolled it down a boat ramp all because her boyfriend didn’t want them. Boy, was her husband (and the country) played for the fools!
‘Me doth think that she protests too loudly’

      Just saying….

      1. That was Susan Smith who was crying all over tv about the “black carjacker” and how “devastated” she was etc. when, in fact,  she herself had killed her children. Just because somebody goes on tv and sheds some tears doesn’t mean they’re telling the truth. I don’t know whether EITHER the mother or father had anything to do with this. Folks can spout opinion or calculate odds or even place bets all day long but it’s just noise. We just do not know at this point.

Boy—I sure hope someone *does* have little Ayla, is treating her well, and brings her back ASAP. I hope it. I pray it.

      2. If it were me I’d be looking for someone who lost a child who would be about Aylas age.
        Where is the fathers mother?

        1. Since I know only what is on Boston channels and BDN, I thought the father was living with his mother at her house. Toooo many conflicting stories.

      3. The father had Ayla.  If the mother didn’t want the girl then why would she file for custody?   If she didn’t want her she could have just left her with her father.

        1. I meant the father was living with His mother, not Ayla’s mother.  Scintillate had asked “Where is the father’s mother?”
We know that the parents were not together.  Thanx anyway.

  2. Since the house was not broken into on the night the little girl disappeared, one of the occupants must know what happened.
