OLD TOWN – Stephen A. Brown, 67, died Dec. 26, 2011, surrounded by loved ones at a local hospital after an extended period of poor health. He was born June 29, 1944, in Beverly, Mass., son of Ara and Jennie (Rugan) Brown.
He grew up in Milford and graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1962. After graduation Steve enlisted in the military, serving from 1962 to 1964. He was employed for many years at Maine Central Railroad. He was a member of American Legion, Old Town, and a special thank you to Jennie Dalrymple. Steve was well known for his sharp wit and his impersonation of Conway Twitty. He could really do justice to those country and western tunes.
He is survived by sisters, Wilma Stevens of Canaan and Bobbie McLaughlin of Milford; two brothers, Phillip Brown and his wife, Ginger, of Stillwater, and Richard Brown and his wife, Karen, of Milford; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his brothers, Carroll “Cappy” Brown and Allan Brown; and his nephew, Clinton Brown. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Donna and Taylor of Beacon Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Steve this past year.
Because Steve donated his body to medical research, there will be no service at this time, but there will be a graveside service in the spring and also a celebration of life at the American Legion at a later date.
