CARIBOU – Clifford J. Plourde, 90, died Jan. 10, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 31, 1921, in Stockholm, son of the late Joe and Talie (Morneault) Plourde.

Clifford served with the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of Perkins Plourde Post No. 136 American Legion, Stockholm and a life member of Lister Knowlton Post No. 9389 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He farmed in Stockholm for a number of years and was the head shipper for Giant Vac Manufacturing, South Windham, Conn. Mr. Plourde was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane (Paquin) Plourde, in 2001. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Rose Teena Plourde of Caribou; three daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnn and Dan Levesque of Ellington, Conn., Bertha and Dan Spallacci of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Pearl Payton of Madelia, Minn.; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Delima Plourde of Florida; sister, Anna Ayotte of Connecticut; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 8:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be at New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
