SANGERVILLE – Colby L. Knowlton, 76, died Jan. 11, 2012, at Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center. He was born June 12, 1935, in Monson, son of Leon and Cecilia (Perry) Knowlton.
Colby was a great father and grandfather. He worked in the woods for most of his life, and was a long time active member of Sangerville Fire Department. He married Gloria A. (Patterson) Knowlton, June 1, 1957. Gloria predeceased him in 2006.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Tereskerz of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, Ray Knowlton and his wife, Lorena, of Monson, and Timothy Knowlton and his wife, Shelley, of Abbot; five grandchildren, Danny Davis and his wife, Nancy of South Carolina, Holly Knowlton of Guilford, Staff Sgt. J.C. Knowlton and his wife, Terra, of Texas, Amy Knowlton of Orono, and Katie Knowlton and her boyfriend, Sean Murphy, of LaGrange; and three great-grandchildren, Noah and Jaida Davis and Julia Munson.
Family and friends are invited to an open house noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Colby’s home, 152 Pleasant Ave., Sangerville. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Blanchard Cemetery.
