DOVER-FOXCROFT – Aubrey “Bud” E. Philpot, 84, husband of Norma (Neal) Philpot, died Jan. 18, 2012, at Hibbard Nursing Home. He was born May 31, 1927, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Edwin and Thelma (Bryant) Philpot.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Bud had been employed at Faye-Scott as a machinist for 42 years. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 52 AF & AM, a member and past grand master of Kineo Lodge No. 64 Independent Order of Odd Fellows and a member of Chadbourne Merrill American Legion Post No. 29.
Bud is survived by his wife, Norma of Dover-Foxcroft; two daughters, Dianne Lowe of Suffolk, Va., and Carole Buzzell and her husband, Darrell, of Skowhegan; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Bud’s family thanks Dr. David McDermott and the staff at Mayo Regional Hospital and Hibbard Nursing Home for the love and attention he received while in their care.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring in the family lot at Dover Cemetery.
