FARMINGTON, Maine — A lawyer for a Massachusetts man accused of fatally stabbing an 81-year-old woman in her Farmington home says his client is expected to plead not guilty.
The Kennebec Journal reports that Juan Contreras of Waltham, Mass., is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on Friday.
Contreras is charged with murder in connection with the June death of Grace Burton. Police say Burton was stabbed 35 times on June 21 and died at the hospital. Before she died, she managed to call 911 and give police a description of her attacker.
Contreras has been held without bail since his arrest Nov. 17 in Massachusetts. He was living in Farmington at the time of Burton’s death.
The 27-year-old Contreras was tied to the slaying through DNA.

….
This type inhabits every city in America and more are coming to Maine. Lets help send him further down the road to perdition. Be armed in your homes.
that elderly lady could have used that ‘protective vest’ more than this slug. I suggest adding morals to laws…the horror she endured.
Head shot.
Bring back public hanging.
Give him a fair and speedy trial by Friday.
To the gallows at high noon on Saturday.
Next!
I like your thinking JJ.
And I know some carpenters that need some work.
If Contreras is found guilty, justice can NOT be served simply because Maine does not have an express line to the gallows pole!
I doubt general population will be good to him. Almost everyone universally loves their grandmother and knows to respect the elderly. Sick punk. He’s lucky Maine has “open-minded” liberals running our courts. We wouldn’t want anyone treating prison as a punishment or giving the death penalty for murder.
